Packing for Cold Climates
........................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Cold climate travel takes getting used too, and thus, it is vital to pack suitably when heading to a cold country. Here are a few tips for you to note to keep warm:

A Few Essentials

Clothes & Accessories

-Underwear is one of the most important items for staying warm in a cold place. Do bring silk long underwear to stay warm and yet pack light.

-Hats can help keep the head, ears and face warm. You can consider packing a cashmere hat.

-Choose your gloves wisely. Select appropriate ones to protect your hands from the cold. Do you know that the human body loses the most heat through our head, hands and feet? Keep them covered!

-When visitng snowy areas, or when participating in winter sports, do remember to wear sunglasses, as the refraction of sunlight off the snow may harm your eyes. Also, apply sunblock to protect exposed skin.

-Wear comfortable boots when leaving, so you don't have to lug them around in your heavy suitcase. Bring a pair of slippers to change on the flight, especially on long-haul ones.

-How about some versatility? Long-sleeve shirts (preferably tight-weave pieces) and leggings can be used as pyjamas and cold climate underwear. This way, you stay warm without adding to the weight of your luggage.

-If fingers, toes or nose becomes white or goes numb, please seek medical attention immediately. It could be a sign of frostbite.
